Afghanistan’s envoy commends Kuwaiti humanitarian efforts

– The Ambassador Afghanistan to Kuwait Sayed Javed Hashimi hailed on Monday the humanitarian and relief aid efforts offer by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) to the Afghan people throughout the years.

These came in remarks given by the ambassador to KUNA following his meeting with KRCS Secretary General and Vice-President of International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent Societies (IFRC) for the region of Asia and Pacific Ocean Maha Al-Barjas.

The diplomat hailed the great role exerted by KRCS in offering humanitarian and relief aid to the Afghan people, especially following the destructive earthquake that hit southern east parts of the country lately, resulting in the death of more than 1,000 people, and destroyed many houses.

The meeting discussed offering various kinds of aid to the Afghan people, who are suffering from a severe shortage in food and medical supplies, and other basic needs due to the latest earthquake that struck the country, he affirmed.

Al-Barjas in remarks to KUNA, expressed the Kuwaiti people sympathy and solidarity with the Afghan people, stressing on the importance assisting the people in need and those undergoing natural disasters by practicing the humanitarian role of the society.

KRCS will take part in every international effort contributing to alleviate the suffering of people, especially in Afghanistan, she added.
