ROME, Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir on Friday stressed that the only possible solution in Yemen is political and that all Yemenis, including the Houthis, have a role in the future of Yemen.
During an address to the Mediterranean Dialogues (Med 2019), Al-Jubeir said there is a possibility to reach a truce followed by a settlement in Yemen, which is of special importance for Saudi Arabia.
Denouncing “Iran’s destructive interference in Yemen,” he said Iran must understand that the international community will not accept the continuation of its aggressive and sabotage policy. He also stressed that his country supports the harshest pressure on Tehran, on condition that the government in Tehran change its behavior if it wants dialogue.
Al-Jubeir underscored the necessity of strict stand against Iran, saying, “No one is seeking war but if Iran wishes for dialogue, it should respect international laws and the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.”
