The Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziyad al-Nakhala, called today, Friday, on Iraq and its people to continue confronting what he called the “Zionist project” and supporting Palestine in its cause against Israel.
Al-Nakhala said in a speech he delivered during the activities and marches of International Al-Quds Day held by the Popular Mobilization Commission in the center of the capital, Baghdad, “We affirm the unity of our nation around Quds and its mosque, and we renew the covenant to God and ourselves on jihad and fighting for its liberation and the liberation of Palestine, in which injustice is manifested in its worst forms.
He added, “O popular Mobilization, oh glorious people of Iraq, that the Palestinian people have a historical responsibility in this country, and they will fight and fight even if the fighting continues for a thousand years until the liberation of Palestine.”
Al-Nakhala continued by saying, “Oh, the great people of Iraq, we have come to Iraq, and we are aware of what Iraq means and what its active presence means in the face of the Zionist project,” adding that “Iraq is the heart of the nation, and it is a firm and authentic pillar in their rise and presence, so do not be absent from Palestine and its people.”
He addressed the Iraqis, “You are the best who defend the truth, and you are the ones who carry the message of Imam Hussein to the world, rejecting injustice and seeking truth and freedom.”/ End
