CAIRO, Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmad Abul-Gheit reiterated on Tuesday the league’s support to and solidarity with Lebanon, particularly during crisis times.
This came in a statement issued by the league after Abul-Gheit’s meeting in Cairo with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jan Kubis.
The Arab league chief and the UN official had discussed latest developments in Lebanon following the formation of the new government and the challenges that lay ahead, noted the statement.
Abul-Gheit urged the new government to full its promises to the people, especially introducing necessary economic reforms to regain the world trust and attract investments.
For his part, Kubis briefed Abul-Gheit about the financial and economic situation in Lebanon and required measures to overcome the current crisis.
