CAIRO,The Arab League on Wednesday condemned Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman’s decision to build 3,900 settlement units in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.
This came in a statement made by the Assistant Secretary of the occupied Palestinian and Arab territories to the Arab League Ambassador Saeed Abu Ali.
Abu Ali also condemned the Israeli Planning Council’s approval to build 2,500 settlement units to expand settlements in the occupied West Bank.
He stressed that this continuous aggression against the Palestinian people is a violation of all resolutions of international legitimacy, laws, treaties and agreements signed in the absence of international accountability, besides backing of the arrogant US administration and its defiance of the will of the international community.” Ambassador Abu Ali also condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli government’s targeting of Bedouin communities in East Jerusalem, particularly the decision of the Israeli Supreme Court to demolish the Bedouin community in Al-Khan Al-Ahmar and forcibly displace more than 35 Bedouin families.(
