Arab League determined to achieve sustained development amid challenges

CAIRO, June 22 (KUNA) — The Arab League on Wednesday said it is eager to accelerate sustained development plans in the face of challenges encumbering such goals, particularly in countries grappling with unrest.

The Cairo-based bloc, through the works of an ad-hoc committee formed to look into the matter, seeks to pinpoint the greatest challenges that impede sustained development in countries plagued by armed conflicts, said Nada Al-Ojaizi, the head of the bloc’s sustained development and international cooperation department.

Amid pan-Arab talks on the matter in the Egyptian capital, representatives of some 13 nations, including Kuwait, have convened for the talks, in addition to officials from international organizations and regional bodies, added the official.
