President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives Eliane Tillieux received National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim on Friday.

In a joint press statement with Speaker Al-Ghanim, published by Al-Dustoor news network, Tillieux hailed strong Belgian-Kuwaiti ties, strengthened by the frequent visits between the two sides.

She added that the two countries’ ties also cover the European Union (EU), noting that the EU had launched a permanent headquarters in Kuwait in July, 2019.

On his part, Al-Ghanim thanked the Belgian Parliament for its efforts and support to resolve key issues in the Middle East, especially the situation in Palestine.

Kuwait has prominent contributions to the Belgian economy, represented by Kuwaiti oil companies in Belgium, Al-Ghanim noted.

The meeting was attended by deputy speaker of the Belgian Parliament and Kuwaiti Ambassador to Belgium, and head of Kuwait’s diplomatic missions to the EU and NATO Jassem Al-Budaiwi.
