Bolton says Maduro is flying assets out of Venezuela

WASHINGTON, US National Security Adviser John Bolton said Friday that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is flying assets out of Venezuelan by plane and questioned if he is stealing resources from citizens for Russian intervention.

“Not only does Maduro require foreign paramilitary support to keep remaining threads of a failed dictatorship, but reports show he is flying out Venezuelan assets by the plane full,” Bolton tweeted. “Is he stealing resources from the people to pay for Russian intervention?” He countered that the National Assembly under opposition leader Juan Guaido wants to use “this gold” to pay for food of the Venezuelan people.

Bolton included a statistic from an Argentina news website Infobae, previously censored by Maduro, that 81 percent of Venezuelans recognize Guaido as interim president.
