Britain will not deliver Apache helicopters to Ukraine

The British government announced that the United Kingdom does not plan to deliver Apache helicopters to Ukraine.

“The government has no plans at the present time to deliver Apache helicopters to Ukraine,” said the written responses of British Deputy Defense Secretary Annabelle Goldie to parliamentarians’ questions, which were published on Tuesday evening.

In turn, British Defense Undersecretary James Heppey indicated that there is a plan to use the resources of the International Fund to Support Ukraine to finance the supply of air defense systems and long-range missiles for the Ukrainian forces.

The British government confirmed that it will receive orders until May 4 from potential suppliers who will be ready to offer missiles with a range of between 100 and 300 km, which are launched from land, sea or air, with a warhead weight from 20 to 490 kg.

It indicated that the priority will be to provide missiles that are difficult to intercept and are capable of countering air defense systems and radars.

It is planned that the second aid package from the aforementioned fund will include air defense systems designed to combat drones and cruise missiles, as well as equipment for building bridges, removing mines, and devices for tanks.

British Defense Minister Ben Wallace announced on February 15 that the first package worth 200 million pounds sterling includes ammunition for artillery, marine reconnaissance and surveillance systems, as well as spare parts, including for tanks.

The British authorities announced in the middle of last year the establishment of the fund to finance military aid to Ukraine, and Britain, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania and Iceland contributed to the fund.
