BEIJING, Chinese President Xi Jinping met his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in Beijing on Wednesday, where the two leaders held discussions over matters of mutual concern.
The Chinese president mentioned a recent “exchange of visits” between both sides, saying he looked forward to push ties with Paris to higher levels, state media reported.
Beijing and Paris sealed various deals worth USD 15 billion in fields running the gamut from aeronautics and energy to agriculture, he told a press conference.
They also agreed to pursue joint endeavors that would help bolster bilateral relations, added the Chinese president.
Macron arrived in China on Monday and is due to leave later on Wednesday.
