Minister of Commerce and Industry Fahad Al-Shurai?’an stressed Sunday the importance of the private sector role and the need to create an appropriate environment for it to work on developing the national economy.

This came on the sidelines of Chairman of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Mohammad Al-Saqer’s meeting with Al-Shurai?’an, with the presence of KCCI Deputy Chairman Abdulwahab Al-Wazzan.

In a statement by the Chamber, Al-Shurai?’an said that the ministry attaches great importance to the various economic sectors, as this aims to restore Kuwait’s economic position at various levels.

For his part, Al-Saqer said that the meeting confirms strengthening the principle of joint cooperation between the Chamber and the Ministry in everything related to the development of the Kuwaiti national economy, based on the Chamber’s role in representing the private sector.

The meeting discussed several issues that require doubled efforts to achieve the desired development of the Kuwaiti economy, he said, stressing the role of the industrial sector for its contribution for diversifying sources of income.
