– Kuwait’s Direct Aid Society (DAS) has been given a 3-star recognized excellence award from the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), the first award in its kind to Kuwait in this regard.
Speaking to KUNA, director general of DAS Abdullah Al-Sumait said the path to excellence with the EFQM is a strong goal and a long journey that initially required inspiring the society’s leaders on all levels and creating a culture committed to driving performance with flexibility, adaptability and development in the future.
It was a distinguished journey, he added.
The society’s Board of Directors adopted a change project and selected consulting firms to guide improvement, he said.
This aimed at training all workers in Kuwait and in African countries, and maintaining strength and focusing on improvement opportunities, he noted.
The EFQM’s model has gained confidence of thousands of organizations all over the world for more than 30 years, he pointed out.
The organization also has previous experiments in backing institutions in changing management and improving performance, he made clear.
The EFQM helped more than 50,000 institutions perform better through using its pioneering methodologies globally, he stated. The group works side by side with leaders to better equip their teams as they manage excellence, cultural change and transformation. Its aim is to help organizations deliver positive performance and meaningful benefits for all of their key stakeholders and society as a whole, according to the organization’s website.
