Egypt logs 581 COVID-19 infections

The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population reported on Sunday that 581 people tested positive for the novel coronwavirus (COVID-19) and 41 others succumbed to their illness in the past 24 hours.

The figures took the country’s COVID-19 tally to 186,503 infections and 10,995 deaths, the ministry’s Spokesman Dr. Khaled Mujahed noted in a press release.

Up to 444 patients have been discharged from hospitals, bringing the overall recoveries to 144,019, he added.
