Egypt, Serbia discuss strengthen bilateral ties

CAIRO, Egypt and Serbia stressed keenness to strengthen bilateral ties at various levels to address the challenges facing both sides of the Mediterranean.

This came during a meeting between Egyptian President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi and Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic, said Egypt’s Presidency spokesperson ambassador Bassam Radhi Sunday.

The Egyptian President expressed his country’s aspiration to strengthen the “historic” ties with Serbia at various levels, noting that “the two countries established the Non-Aligned Movement in the 1960s.” For his part, Selakovic lauded the Egyptian efforts to achieve security and stability in its region as well as its efforts to combat extremist ideologies.

On other hand, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri and his Serbian counterpart discussed strengthening cooperation between the two countries and the latest developments globally and regionally.
