Egypt’s former PM dies today aged 83

CAIRO, May 27 (KUNA) — Egyptian former Prime Minister, Ali Lotfy died Sunday aged 83 at Dar Al Fouad Hospital in Cairo, official news agency reported.

Lotfy was born on 6th October 1935, and served as Prime Minister of Egypt from 4th September 1985 to 9th November 1986.

The former Prime Minister holds a PhD in Economics, University of Lausanne, and served as Chairman of the Shura Council and President of the Supreme Council of the Press. He was awarded the State Award for Social Sciences from the Supreme Council of Culture in 1992.

The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon, said the agency.
