No Kuwaiti citizens are present in areas affected by a devastating tornado that hit parts of the Czech Republic, the embassy in Prague confirmed on Friday.

The embassy did not receive any notifications regarding the presence of Kuwaitis in those areas, Kuwait’s Ambassador Rashed Al-Hajeri said in a statement.

He said that Kuwaitis usually flock to areas that are far from those affected.

Reports said that the tornado struck villages and towns in the southeast of the country, killing at least three people and injuring dozens more.

Several buildings and homes have been reduced to rubble, with electricity cut off for more than 40,000 families.
