BRUSSELS, The European Union Tuesday called on all signatories to the Stockholm Agreement on Yemen to urgently and fully implement it in order to progress towards an inclusive political solution.
The EU appeal came after a renewed bout of hostilities in the Kushar district led to the death of many civilians in Yemen.
“The EU expects all the parties to stick to their respective commitments and swiftly implement the provisions of the Hodeidah ceasefire, especially the mutual redeployment of forces,” said Maja Kocijancic, spokesperson for EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, in a statement.
“They should engage with the UN Special Envoy, in good faith, to fulfil the UN Security Council Resolutions 2451 and 2452. The EU reiterates its full constant support to the UN-led process,” she added.
