BRUSSELS, The European Union Monday called on Turkey to respect international law and good neighbourly relations with countries around it.
“Turkey has to avoid any kind of threats or actions that would damage good neighbourly relations and the settlement of all disputes whatever these disputes are,” Peter Stano, spokesperson for EU High Representative Josep Borrell, told a news conference.
He was replying to a question on the agreement signed last week between Turkey and Libya’s UN-backed government to delineate the maritime boundaries between the two countries.
“The limitations of the economic zone and continental shelf should be addressed through dialogue and negotiations in good faith,” added Stano.
