PARIS, France affirmed its continuous support for Lebanon to achieve peace and security in the country on Monday.
The remarks came in a statement by France’s Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs on the sidelines of the meeting of the International Support Group for Lebanon, set to kick off in Paris on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the international community aims to call for speeding up the formation of a new Lebanese government that is capable of fixing the deteriorating economic situation.
Lebanese President Michel Aoun announced today that his country will take part in the meeting, hoping that it would come out with positive results.
The group includes the UN, France, China, Germany, Italy, Russia, UK, the US, the European Union (EU) and the Arab League.
