Riyadh: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, underscored the necessity of reinforcing joint Arab efforts given the current regional challenges and the importance of unifying positions to bolster security and stability in the region.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Budaiwi made these remarks during his participation in the periodic meeting of Arab Ambassadors held at the Kuwait Embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The General Secretariat released a statement highlighting Al-Budaiwi’s review of the GCC’s progress and its significant achievements across political, economic, and developmental arenas. The statement also emphasized the council’s pivotal role in promoting regional and international stability, alongside fostering cooperation and integration among member states.
The meeting served as a platform for exchanging views on the latest regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest. The Arab Ambassadors to Saudi Arabia expressed their appreciation for the Cooperation Council’s active role in enhancing Gulf-Arab cooperation and coordination, which they noted benefits the peoples of the region.
Al-Budaiwi extended his gratitude for the invitation to the meeting and expressed appreciation to Kuwait’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, for hosting the gathering. He noted that such meetings and gatherings are instrumental in facilitating the exchange of views and strengthening fraternal ties among the ambassadors.
