GCC condemns Houthis’ ballistic missile attack on Riyadh

RIYADH– Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani condemned the Houthis’ ballistic missile attack on Saudi Arabia’s capital city, Riyadh, on Tuesday.

This cowardly terrorist act is an evidence of the “confusion and desperation of the (Houthi) militias, and their insistance on targeting innocent civilians, and threatening security and stability of the Kingdom” of Saudi Arabia, Al-Zayani said in a statement.

He commended the Saudi military for intercepting and destroying the ballistic missile. This is the second missile fired by the Houthis against Riyadh.

Al-Zayani expressed regret for the Houthis’ rejection to all calls for peace, which would stop bloodshed in Yemen.

He called on the international community to stand firmly against the Houthis.
