GCC ministry undersecretaries’ discuss food safety

RIYADH, June 19 (KUNA) — GCC ministry undersecretaries’ discussed in sixth meeting, Sunday, a number of tabled topics relating to food safety in gulf area, including Gulf guide for monitoring imported foods.

The general secretariat added in statement that the meeting, held in its headquarters in Riyadh, handled discussion of a unifying food law for all gulf countries and issuing certificates for traded foods.

The meeting was headed by vice president of the food department within the Saudi Food and Drug Authority Dr. Mohammad Al-Nasser and participating in it was Assistant Undersecretary for economic and developmental affairs within the secretariat Khalifa Al-Ebri.
