Geneva: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has issued a stern condemnation of the ongoing Israeli aggression, policies of forced displacement, and efforts to alter the demographic character of the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this condemnation was articulated by Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Nasser Al-Hain. As Chairman of the Council of Ambassadors of the GCC, he delivered a speech during a dialogue on the report of the UN Special Rapporteur concerning human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Ambassador Al-Hain emphasized the appreciation of GCC countries for the UN Special Rapporteur’s efforts within her mandate and expressed deep concern regarding the report’s findings, which underscore the severity of ongoing violations against the Palestinian people.
He reaffirmed the GCC’s steadfast position on the Palestinian issue, highlighting the need to end the Israeli occupation of all Palestinian and Arab territories. The Ambassador reiterated the importance of enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
