Health minister: Kuwait is keen on offering pediatric care

Kuwait is keen on boosting and protecting children’s health care rights, as well as preventive, curative and rehabilitative care at the required required quality under the umbrella of comprehensive health care, The Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi said on Saturday.

He added during the speech he gave during the opening ceremony of Kuwait Pediatric Conference earlier today, “Protecting the child’s rights in health care is basic human right in various years of his age, according to the international charters and the United Nations (UN) agreements.

This conference is a remarkable achievement in the road of children health care, expressing his hope that the venue would come out with distinguished recommendations. He added.

That would contribute in updating the children health care policies and protocols, and monitoring its application through the appropriate scientific indices, he affirmed.

The conference comes in coincident with the international celebration of the World Children’s Day, and the aspects of the conference are highly endorsed, he added.

Meanwhile, Head of conference Dr. Eman Al-Enizi that this event covers all the sections of children’s pediatric specialties in Kuwaiti hospitals to offer the appropriate opportunity for all public and subsidiary specialties in the children medicine.

The conference in which 500 participants from Kuwait and the Gulf region nations are taking part in, comes amid great challenges facing the health sector following the Coronavirus (covid-19) pandemic, nevertheless the preparatory committees prepares a precise scientific programme that comes upon the latest developments in the field.

The conference is hosting a group of experienced international advisors and analysists to offer 65 lectures and 16 work papers, as well as five specialized workshops in the field, Dr. Al-Enizi said.

She expressed hope that this conference would play a key role in offering the best health care possible for children in our country.
