Higher Edu. min.: Establishing Kuwait’s Abdullah Al-Salem University ‘historic’ step

Minister of Oil and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Mohammad Al-Faris said on Sunday that the establishment of the new Abdullah Al-Salem University was a historic step and part of the state’s development goals for 2035.

The statement came after the meeting for university’s Constituent Board headed by chairperson Dr. Moudhi Al-Hmoud.

He pointed out that the aim of Abdullah Al-Salem University was to prepare qualified youth cadres to contribute in building and developing society and meet the requirements of the labor market.

The founding of the university’s board came within the framework of the state’s support for higher education and the leadership’s interest in developing the country.

The board will approve the establishment of Abdullah Al-Salem University and decide on all buildings, lands and public facilities dedicated for the university.

On her and the committee members behalf, Dr. Al-Hmoud thanked the leadership in laying the foundation for the establishment of the University.

She praised the members of the Constituent Board, stressing that it included a diverse group of specialists in several scientific and practical fields which enhances human development and keep pace with global challenges and changes.

The Secretary-General of the board, Dr. Adel Al-Hussainan, stated that the board’s first meeting reviewed the decrees that were listed on the agenda including the ones relating to Kuwait Vision 2035.
