Info. Min. issues decision to form higher committee for 2021 awards

– Minister of Information and Culture, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Chairman of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi issued a ministerial decision to form the higher committee for the State Appreciation and State Incentive Awards for the year 2021.

The Council’s Official Spokesman, Assistant Secretary General for the Culture Sector Dr. Essa Al-Ansari said in a press statement Wednesday that the council, since its establishment, has supported Kuwaiti creators in various fields of culture.

He added that the committee for the two awards will be chaired by Al-Mutairi, and have the membership of Secretary General of NCCAL Kamil Al-Abduljaleel, himself and Director of the Culture Department Aisha Al-Mahmoud.

The work of the committee starts from the date of issuance of the decision until March 31, 2022.

The State Appreciation Award was established by a cabinet decision in 1999 and is focused on awarding prizes to those who have a major role in leadership and cultural establishment.

The cabinet also established the State Incentive Award in 1988, which specializes in supporting the creativity of talented people for their achievements in the fields of arts, literature, social sciences and humanities.
