TEHRAN, Iran announced Monday that it increased its uranium enrichment level to 4.5 percent after its last decision of reducing nuclear commitments.
In a statement to Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA), Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said, “Today, Iran has surpassed the 4.5 percent on its uranium enrichment.
The purity level is enough to meet the country’s need in providing fuel for our power plants,” he noted.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will analyze the taken samples and then announce the exact level of uranium enrichment, Kamalvandi explained.
On Sunday, Iran announced intention to increase its enriched uranium output, in a step breaching the nuclear deal signed with the West; a decision that stirred up global responses.
