Iraq registers 13 Cholera infections, set precautionary procedures

BAGHDAD, June 19 (KUNA) — Iraq registered 13 cases of Cholera in various parts of the country, the country’s Ministry of Health announced on Sunday.

The Ministry is following all the required precautionary procedures to hamper the spread of this disease, it added.

The infections were found with 10 cases in Sulaymaniyah Governorate in Kurdistan region, two in Muthanna Governorate southern the country, while one was found in Kirkuk norther Iraq, it added in a statement.

The local health institutions are ready to cope with these infections, and to offer them all the needed medications, medical, and laboratory equipment, it added.

It will send specialized teams to all of the country’s governorates from the diseases control and prevention center, and the directorate of public health in cooperation with the health specialized authorities in Kurdistan to follow up the cases and those inspected to be infected, it said.
