BAGHDAD, Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammad Al-Hakim on Sunday called for dialogue as a way to resolve political crises in the region.
This came during talks between Al-Hakim his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif to prepare for Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Iraq on Monday.
Al-Hakim stressed Iraq believed in importance of making room for political solutions for crises of the region, and the adoption of dialogue between parties to any dispute and non-interference in the internal affairs of states, said statement.
The Iraqi minister expressed Baghdad’s aspiration to promote multi-faceted cooperation with Tehran, including the political, economic, security and cultural fields.
The talks are a prelude to the visit of Rouhani, scheduled for Monday, his first visit since taking office in 2013.
