BAGHDAD, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi on Wednesday announced the launch of a 2018-19 national development plan, saying that Iraq is heading to “real renaissance” in all fields.
The coming years will witness developments the housing sector, through building more houses and schools, in addition to supporting other health and service sectors, as well as providing more jobs. “Our Project is an integrated one and we are determined to proceed ahead,” the Premier said, noting that government had managed over the past period to overcome the massive challenge of falling oil prices, through cut of spending. On April 1, the Iraqi government approved a development plan that will see oil out capacity of 6.5 million barrels per day (bpd)) along with promoting production of the agricultural and industrial sector, targeting a growth rate of 7 percent.
