Tulkarm: Israeli occupation forces killed a 23-year-old Palestinian woman, Sundus Shalabi, and her unborn child during their assault on Nour Shams camp east of Tulkarm.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry of Health reported that Sundus, who was eight months pregnant, was killed alongside her baby, and her husband sustained critical head injuries from live gunfire. The ministry further indicated that medical teams in Tulkarm were unable to save the child due to the Israeli forces’ obstruction of access to medical care.
Sundus and her baby arrived at the hospital dead, while her husband was transferred to a hospital in Ramallah due to the severity of his condition, it added. Israeli forces had blocked the Palestine Red Crescent teams from reaching the wounded inside Nour Shams camp, but after some time, the teams were able to reach Sundus and her husband, transporting them to Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarm. However, they were unable to reach two other injured individuals inside the camp.
Eyewitnesses reported to Kuwait News Agency that Israeli snipers, stationed in buildings taken over by the occupation, opened fire on Sundus and her husband in the al-Saleheen area of the camp while they were attempting to leave their home and find a safer location. With the killing of Sundus Shalabi, the total number of victims in Tulkarm and its camps during the ongoing Israeli assault has now reached six.
