Italy reports 2,470 coronavirus cases, count exceeds 20,000

ROME Italy?’s new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Monday numbered 2,470, with 349 deaths.

Angelo Borrelli, Head of the Italian Civil Protection, said in a statement that Italy had a total of 27,980 COVID-19 cases, of which 2,749 patients have recovered. The dead number 2,158.

Out of the count, 1,851 patients have been admitted to intensive care units, he added.
