Kuwait City: His Highness the Amir, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on Tuesday urged the Ministry of Interior’s personnel to devotedly safeguard Kuwait and clamp down on drugs dealers with utmost firmness. In a speech marking his visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior, His Highness the Amir addressed the Minister of Defense and the Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the Interior Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and ministry personnel.
According to Kuwait News Agency, His Highness the Amir urged the Ministry of Interior’s command and personnel to remain vigilant, ready, and primarily dedicated to serving the homeland, maintaining interior security, protecting borders, and ensuring stability by applying the law firmly on everyone without exception. He emphasized confronting narcotics and any involved individuals with might and firmness to preserve the future of youth, families, and society. His Highness stated that there should be no complacency in protecting society from this destructive scourge.
Moreover, His Highness the Amir called for overhauling security tasks, upgrading the efficiency of security personnel, and staying abreast of international developments with regard to teaching, training, and employing modern sciences to enhance personnel skills. He also highlighted the importance of boosting confidence and partnership between the Ministry of Interior and its staff with citizens, preserving human rights, and combating all forms of crime while offering services justly and equally.
His Highness Sheikh Meshal also urged the implementation of the new traffic law to reduce accidents and ensure road safety. He began his speech by expressing his pleasure, alongside his brother the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, in meeting the Ministry of Interior’s command, chiefs, and personnel to congratulate them on the advent of the blessed month, praying for divine aid in fasting and prayers.
Affirming that security is the basis for a country’s development, progress, and prosperity, His Highness the Amir expressed pride in the Ministry of Interior personnel who play a pivotal role in safeguarding the security of Kuwait and ensuring the safety of the Kuwaiti community. He praised their efforts in applying laws on all citizens and lauded the update of the security apparatus with state-of-the-art systems, including biometric technology.
His Highness also valued the ministry’s continuous efforts for digital transformation and the offering of electronic services that save time and effort. He commended the role of Kuwaiti women in the security sectors, acknowledging their capability to shoulder responsibility with efficiency and professionalism. He pledged continued support for the armed forces, particularly the Ministry of Interior and its cadres, by supplying them with the most modern equipment.
His Highness the Amir was accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah upon arrival at the Ministry of Interior headquarters, where they were received by the Minister of Defense and the Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and the Interior Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Following His Highness the Amir’s address, the Acting Minister of Interior made a statement, and a film about the Ministry of Interior’s achievements in 2024 was screened. This was followed by a statement by Colonel Dr. Lujain Al-Rushaid on behalf of the Women Police and poetry recited by Major Mohammad Madi Ayed. His Highness the Amir was also presented with a memorial gift.
