Kuwait City: Representative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, inaugurated the new building of the Palace of Justice on Tuesday evening. Upon his arrival, His Highness the Amir’s Representative was welcomed by President of the Supreme Judiciary Council and Head of the Court of Cassation Dr. Adel Bouresli, Minister of Justice Nasser Youssef Al-Sumait, Acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, and senior judges.
According to Kuwait News Agency, after playing the national anthem and a Holy Quran recitation, Justice Bouresli delivered a speech expressing gratitude to His Highness the Amir for his patronage and to His Highness the Crown Prince for attending the occasion. The inauguration coincides with preparations for Kuwait’s 64th national day and 34th liberation day celebrations.
Justice Bouresli expressed hope that the new building will be a source of pride for Kuwait and a beacon for justice. Minister of Justice Al-Sumait echoed this sentiment, describing the event as historic and reflective of Kuwait’s vision for enhancing the rule of law and protecting rights and liberties.
Al-Sumait thanked His Highness the Amir and the Crown Prince for their support and recalled the Sovereign’s emphasis on the judiciary as a vital state pillar alongside security. The minister outlined strategic objectives such as reviewing legislation, expediting litigation, expanding digital judicial services, and enhancing supervision and transparency mechanisms.
At the ceremony’s conclusion, a documentary on the judicial institution’s development in Kuwait was screened, and a token gift was presented to His Highness the Amir’s Representative.
