NEW YORK, Kuwait Permanent Representative to the UN Mansour Al-Otaibi condemned on Monday the dangerous escalation in Saudi Arabia last night, when Houthi militias fire missiles from Yemeni territories and against Saudi cities of Khamis Mshait, Najran, Jazan and Riyadh.
Al-Otaibi made the remarks in a statement at a Security Council session, which was discussing the Middle East and the Palestinian case.
Al-Otaibi said that they usually tackle issues related to Palestine when the session is on the Middle East, but this time the issue on random missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia “has forced itself into these discussions.” Kuwait strongly condemns such attacks on Saudi Arabia, which represent a clear violation to international law and to Security Council resolutions, Al-Otaibi added.
Al-Otaibi said the Security Council must have a unified position on this matter, and must work to put an end to these attacks, which threaten peace and security of the region.
