Kuwait Calls for Overhauling Pan-Arab Transports.

Kuwait City: Kuwait has urged the development of the transport sector among Arab states, emphasizing the need for strategic partnerships and policy coordination across Arab transport networks. This call to action was delivered by Eng. Khaled Al-Osaimi, Acting Director General of the Roads and Land Transport Authority, while presiding over Kuwait’s delegation at the 37th session of the Council of Arab Transport Ministers in Alexandria.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Osaimi highlighted several key areas that require attention to advance the transport sector. These include modernizing infrastructure, investing in strategic projects, and linking ports, airports, and road networks to improve efficiency and facilitate the movement of goods. Al-Osaimi also addressed the importance of transitioning to sustainable transport by adopting environmental policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions and using eco-friendly vehicles.

Al-Osaimi further emphasized the need to enhance security and safety in the transport s
ector by implementing the latest international safety procedures. He underscored the importance of cooperation among Arab countries to exchange expertise in training and qualifying specialists in logistics and safety. Al-Osaimi urged continued efforts from Arab nations and international organizations to strengthen the Arab transport sector.

He reassured the assembly of Kuwait’s commitment to promoting economic prosperity in the Arab transport sector and highlighted Kuwait’s active participation in the 37th session. Kuwait’s delegation was led by Al-Osaimi and Nour Al-Huda Al-Sammak, Acting Head of the Planning and Follow-up Office at the General Authority for Roads and Land Transport.
