NEW YORK: The State of Kuwait has expressed its disapproval of the perceived international silence and double standards regarding Israeli occupation crimes against Palestinians, emphasizing the necessity for all global community members to adhere to international law. This declaration was made by Wafeeqa Al-Mulla, the second secretary at the Kuwaiti Permanent Mission to the United Nations, during a speech to the UN General Assembly.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Mulla described human rights violations occurring worldwide as issues demanding a firm and consistent response from the international community. She reiterated Kuwait’s strong condemnation of what it views as horrific crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, and Lebanon, attributing these actions to the occupiers’ inhumane and aggressive policies.
Al-Mulla labeled the killing of innocent civilians and the destruction of their homes by the Israeli occupation as egregious crimes against humanity. She urged for an
immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the facilitation of humanitarian aid, and accountability for those responsible for these violations and crimes.
The Kuwaiti diplomat also expressed support for the Human Rights Council’s decision to initiate an independent investigation into the alleged war crimes by the Israeli occupation. She called on the international community to assist Palestinians in their struggle against oppression.
On the topic of Lebanon, Al-Mulla advocated for an international initiative to halt Israeli attacks on the Arab state, emphasizing that aggression against UNIFIL troops constitutes a significant breach of international law. She also highlighted Kuwait’s dedication to human rights, mentioning the country’s recent efforts to submit its sixth review on eliminating discrimination against women and advancing labor rights globally.
