Kuwait cruises into final round of 2023 Asia cup qualifiers

— Kuwait national soccer team have cruised into the final round of the 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers after beating China Taipei 2-1 on Tuesday as part of the final round of the 2023 Asian and 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Kuwait’s Yousef Nasser scored in the 14th and 72nd minutes, while China Taipei team netted in the 51st minutes during the game held at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.

Australia’s team top the Group B with 24 points, while Kuwait and Jordan won the second and third positions respectively with 14 points each.

The Australians qualified for the Asian cup, and will also compete in the last decisive round of the World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking at a news conference after the game, Thamer Enad, coach of Kuwait’s team, said today’s victory would boost the players’ morale ahead of the 2021 Arab cup qualifiers.

Kuwait will meet Bahrain in a decisive game on June 25 in the Arab cup qualifiers, he added, noting that he trusts all players and their potentials.

Meanwhile China Taipei coach Henry Wang said his players played a good match and will have a promising future in this game.

China Taipei faced some problems due to Kuwaiti players’ brilliant performance, he said, indicating that his team could reduce the danger of Kuwait in the second half.
