Kuwait Dispatches 19th Plane Carrying 10 Tons of Aid to Syria

Kuwait City: Kuwait’s 19th relief plane departed for Damascus International Airport on Wednesday, carrying 10 tons of food supplies and aid for Syria as part of the “Kuwait is by Your Side” campaign.

According to Kuwait News Agency, this plane was prepared by Al-Salam Association for Humanitarian and Charitable Works in coordination with various state ministries. Director of Al-Salam Association Hamad Al-Aoun mentioned before take-off that the campaign continues to dispatch relief materials to implement the directives of Kuwaiti leadership to support and assist the people of Syria.

Al-Oun highlighted that the selection of the shipment was done in coordination with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Society. The shipment consists of basic food materials such as flour, dates, beans, lentils, and other long-lasting items, in addition to heavy winter clothes, blankets, and gloves.

He expressed his appreciation to the official authorities in Kuwait, especially the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, represented by the Kuwaiti Air Force, and the Ministry of Information and Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) for following up and broadcasting this humanitarian event.

This is the sixth airplane sent by Al-Salam Association, with a total amount estimated at about 180 tons of aid. Today’s plane brings the total aid to Syria so far to 535 tons.
