Kuwait hands remains of Saudi POW imprisoned during Iraqi invasion

The State of Kuwait delivered the remains of a Saudi national who was taken as a POW during the 1990 Iraqi invasion, said the Interior Ministry in a statement Friday.

The remains of captain Abdullah Al-Qarni was handed to Saudi authorities during a ceremony last Wednesday, the statement added.

It went on to say that, the DNA test proved that the remains belonged to Al-Qarni.

The Interior Ministry took the chance to express its deepest condolences to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, wishing the family of Al-Qarni solace and peace.
