Kuwait’s national karate team clinched a pair of gold medals and a bronze to up its tally to 10 at the Kazakhstan-hosted Asian championship, its federation chief said on Sunday.

Ali Al-Ali powered his way to victory in the over 76 kg division, while his compatriots Abdullah Al-Mutairi and Saad Al-Halfi both finished third in their respective categories, Kuwait’s karate federation chief Mohammad Al-Jasem told KUNA.

He attributed the “outstanding” results to the support the athletes receive at home, saying he expected the team to strive for greater achievements in forthcoming events.
