Kuwait Minister and US Diplomat Discuss Strategies to Combat Human Trafficking.

Kuwait City: Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Wasmi met with US Ambassador-at-Large to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons Cindy Dyer to explore ways to enhance cooperation in the fight against human trafficking. The meeting took place at the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies and also included US Ambassador to Kuwait Karen Sasahara.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the discussions highlighted the longstanding bilateral relations between Kuwait and the United States in various fields. Dr. Al-Wasmi commended Cindy Dyer’s contributions and active role in tackling the increasing issue of trafficking in persons. He emphasized Kuwait’s national efforts through a three-point strategy focusing on protection, prevention, and partnership building, which involves collaboration at local, regional, and global levels. A national committee has been established to implement this strategy and address trafficking concerns effectively.

The meeting also featured
a visual presentation by representatives from Kuwait’s Ministries of Justice, Interior, and Health, alongside the Public Prosecution. These presentations detailed the initiatives, measures, and services provided by each ministry to combat trafficking in persons.
