Kuwait PM: Leaders responsible for improving country’s ranking in global indicators

– His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah confirmed, Thursday, the responsibility of leaders to improve Kuwait’s ranking in global indicators in all sectors, raise its credit rating and reduce the deficit in the state’s general budget, each according to its position.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled said in a speech during a meeting held in the presence of state leaders, under the title “Kuwait post pandemic,” that the state spends generously on all sectors according to organized laws, but unfortunately the indicators did not reflect this reality.

He brought up what the state spends on education, saying that it was equivalent to spending by most countries in education indicators, if not more, but the outputs unfortunately did not reflect that.

He directed the leaders to reduce expenditures, ensure savings, and benefit from them, especially as the situation requires greater responsibility in dealing with financial and economic matters.

Structural imbalances in the public finances must be addressed, in order for the efforts of the Ministry of Finance and competent agencies, aimed at reducing the deficit in the public budget, to be a success, he added.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled confirmed that combating corruption is a legitimate duty that everyone shares, and the government will not hesitate to hold any official accountable, bringing them to court whenever it is proven that they violated the state’s gains and public money.
