Kuwait City: Kuwait’s Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna, Talal Al-Fassam, affirmed Kuwait’s firm commitment to combating drugs and enhancing international cooperation. In a speech delivered at the 68th session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna, Al-Fassam emphasized Kuwait’s integrated approach, which includes strict legislative measures, preventive and rehabilitation programs, and enhanced international cooperation to address cross-border challenges in this field.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Fassam highlighted the significance of the recently opened center for addiction treatment in Kuwait, which reflects the country’s commitment to providing treatment and rehabilitation services according to the latest medical and scientific standards. He reiterated Kuwait’s dedication to supporting international efforts against drug trafficking and abuse and called for intensified joint cooperation to achieve security, stability, and sustainable development globally.
The delegation representing Kuwait at the commission was led by Ambassador Talal Al-Fassam and included Colonel Abdullah Al-Rabeeah and Lieutenant Colonel Mahdi Al-Anzi from the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Hussein Al-Shatti from the Ministry of Health, and Third Secretary at the Permanent Delegation to the UN in Vienna, Rehab Al-Farhan.
