Kuwait report on social, economic rights “satisfactory”, says envoy

Kuwait’s report over a UN pact on social, cultural and economic rights was “satisfactory,” the country’s permanent representative to the UN Jamal Al-Ghunaim said on Wednesday, praising the experience as a productive exchange.

UN experts were content with Kuwait’s views on the matter amid talks spanning two days, added the diplomat, saying his country’s arguments were supported by evidence and facts.

Kuwait’s report included a spate reforms the country had seen in recent years, running the gamut from women’s rights and labor to economic development
