Kuwait reports eight Covid-19 deaths, 707 infections

 

Kuwait’s Ministry of Health on Sunday said eight people succumbed to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 707 others tested positive for the pandemic over the past 24 hours.
The new figures raised death toll to 2,328 and overall infections to 398,538, spokesman for the Ministry Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA.
He noted that the total recoveries rose by 1,339 to 385,401, stating that the ratio of recoveries to the overall cases is 96.7 percent.
As many as 291 patients are being treated at intensive care units (ICUs), he said, referring to over 11,000 others at hospitals.
He pointed out that overall medical swabs hit 3,417,022 after conducting 12,410 in the same period.
The percentage of infections hit 28 percent in Ahmadi governorate, 28 percent in Farwaniyah, 22 in Hawally, 12 in Jahra and 10 in the Capital, Al-Sanad said.
Al-Sanad renewed his call for both citizens and residents to abide by health precautions and physical distancing, as well as avoid gatherings.
He further urged the public to follow up official accounts of the ministry, and the bodies’ guidelines and recommendations in order to control the spread of the virus.
