The Kuwaiti Football Association declared on Thursday that the forthcoming Kuwait Super Cup match between Kuwait Club and Al-Arabi Club would be held on January 17.

The association said in a statement on Thursday that the encounter would be held at the International Jaber Stadium at 7 p.m. (local time).

Al-Arabi qualified for the encounter for being champion of the Premier League and its rival qualified for being winner of the Amir Cup.

First round of the Super Cup was launched in 2008. It is a single match grouping winners of the Amir Cup and the Premier League.

Al-Qadsiya had won the Super Cup six times followed by Kuwait Club, five times, and Al-Arabi, twice.
