Kuwaiti FM: Visit to Lebanon to boost trust with region

— The Kuwaiti foreign minister affirmed on Sunday that his current visit to Lebanon came to boost rebuilding trust between the country with regional and foreign countries.

“I conveyed to (Lebanese Parliament Speaker) Nabih Berri a message of peace from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad and the Speaker of Kuwait?’s National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim,” Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah added in press remarks, following his visit with Lebanon?’s Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.

“We tackled bilateral ties between both nations, and all the challenges we are encountering, regionally and internationally, and the appropriate procedures to be taken in order to rebuild the trust between Lebanon and its regional and international surroundings,” Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Al-Nasser Al-Sabah added.

It is a collective desire that Lebanon should be stable and safe, and this will only take place in case it implements the international and Arab legitimist resolutions, he affirmed.

He indicated that this visit is merely meant to offer the ideas he discussed yesterday with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and earlier this morning with the Lebanese President Michael Aoun, and later today with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, noting that these ideas were basically based on rebuilding trust process between Lebanon and the region.

“There is not any form of interference in the Lebanese internal affairs, and the Gulf Cooperating Council (GCC) nations are not interfering in the Lebanese internal affairs,” he added.

“This visit is only meant at conveying the same message I tackled yesterday with Premier Mikati, then earlier today with President Aoun”, the Kuwaiti minister said.
