His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s official state visit to China has major implications for bilateral ties, a pair of Kuwaiti ministers said on Sunday.
Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh, alongside Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan, collectively emphasized the enormity of His Highness the Amir’s “historic” visit to the world’s most populous nation.
“We look forward to better ties with China through sealing a number of deals in various fields,” Al-Saleh told KUNA, citing seven agreements pending confirmation, all of which he hoped would help propel bilateral ties to new levels. On His Highness the Amir’s visit to China, Al-Roudhan expected that it would pay dividends in the long run, saying that the deals run the gamut from the technology and industrial sectors to the economy.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti minister hailed Beijing as an “economic powerhouse,” whose knowhow and technology advantage could prove beneficial for the Gulf state.
His Highness the Amir has commenced a three-day official state visit to Beijing, where he will be named as guest of honor during a major forum over China’s ties with the Arab region.
