Kuwaiti Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity and Water, Bakheet Al-Rashidi, affirmed the necessity of prioritising environment protection, in the standards of taking decisions and oil industry investment, said Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), on Tuesday.
In a statement to KUNA, the corporation affirmed its keenness to abide by environment standards, in all its activities.
During his participation in CERAWeek, an annual energy industry conference, that runs from Mar 5-9, in Houston, in the US, the minister emphasised that, gas and oil industry pays much attention to preserve environment, through using and developing clean technologies, the statement stated.
He pointed to the developed refining industry, which led to the reduction of carbon and the production of clean products, in line with international environmental protection requirements.
The minister referred to the transformation witnessed by Kuwait, through the use of gas in power stations, expansion of the use of solar energy and reduction of burning gas.
This comes in line with Kuwait’s international commitments, to ensuring that all future projects are compatible with the highest standards of the environment, to benefit mankind.
